The bike above I am offering for sale ~ $6975 OBO.   THIS BIKE HAS BEEN SOLD

Included is a 1-time purchase coupon for anything in my store at a 15% discount [multiple items OK, special order items excluded].  Discount coupon valid for 30 days from date of purchase.

I have a clear title and a "Non-Op" registration with the California DMV in my name on the bike.

This Darmah starts right up with no worries.  It runs and idles well immediately.  It stops quickly and easily.  It is in very good condition both cosmetically and mechanically.  It is good to go, ready to ride.  This has all the good stuff; factory air boxes & side stand, Marzocchi piggyback shocks, Marzocchi 38mm forks, 2-piece drilled 6-bolt cast iron Brembo rotors, Brembo F08 calipers, FPS wheels, CEV indicators, BOSCH H4 headlamp, factory steering damper etc etc.  I have the original ignition and tail compartment keys.

What I know about this bike:

In 1981 only 683 Darmahs were produced with only 40 imported into the USA.  This is one of those 40.

This is a 1981 model SD900 Darmah with 5937 original miles, 99% all original including the black and gold paint, Marzocchi shocks & factory air boxes.  The only things NOT original are the BUB mufflers and rear tire. This is a 1981 model with 12/80 as a build date stamped on the headstock, engine #905611 & frame #951960.  The bike was last registered in 1994 at which time the previous owner drained the fuel, prepared it for storage and moved it into his personal collection.  It sat in his garage in Southern California until I purchased it along with several other of his bikes a few years ago when he lost interest in his Ducati collection.

What I have done to this bike mechanically [in the past month]:

  • Rebuilt carbs - new seals, float needle valves, accelerator pumps, metal banjos & fuel screens installed

  • New battery & battery strap installed

  • New Cavis Benz fuel line & 5mm wide hose clamps

  • New Paioli fuel taps

  • New intake manifold insulators

  • Sync'd carbs and got her running right

  • All cables checked & lubed

  • Brakes checked, only needed fluid change - both front and rear.

  • Installed new countershaft sprocket seal

  • Removed, cleaned & lubed clutch actuator rods & cable etc

  • Clean, lube & adjust all levers and controls

  • Clean, adjust & lube drive chain

What needs to be done to this bike:

  • Install new tires

This bike will be sold with a legal "bill of sale" and a pink slip signed by me.  The new owner will be able to go to the DMV for your area and do a simple transfer of title and pay the normal required transfer fees to get it registered for road use.  I have the California plate for your new stickers once you transfer title etc.

There will be no outstanding or hidden fees involved when you go to the DMV - just simple transfer fees [$62 +/- in California] as all documents are current and in order [how rare is that?].

This bike starts right up, runs and stops very well and is in particularly good condition.  However, it is to be sold "AS-IS, WHERE IS" with absolutely NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  I have described this bike to the best of my knowledge above with accurate statements, and provided all details both good and bad that I am aware of for this particular bike.

The bike is available for pickup directly from me.  If shipping is required, I prefer that you use my shipper to get the bike TO YOUR DOOR for $572 above the price of the bike.  You can also arrange for your shipper to come to me and pick it up - I will not deliver it to any shipper or crate it for you without extra charges added [$250 to take to SFO].  You will be responsible for all shipping costs incurred either way.

This bike is located in Pleasant Hill, California postal code 94523.  If you look at a map, it is about 5 mins from where highway 24 and 680 converge in Walnut Creek, which is 35 mins east of San Francisco.

If this bike interests you, please contact Steve Allen at Bevel Heaven to set an appointment to view the bike or to discuss terms.
