1982 Ducati SD900 Darmah ~
SOLD
1982 Ducati Darmah SD. A rare bike, and the
last official year of 900 SD's production. This Ducati is rare
in that it is one of the last 900 Darmah's off the assembly
line, and very few 900SD's were built for 1982. 317 Darmah's
were produced for the 1982 model year and only about 40 came to
the USA. Light blue. This particular bike has a build date of
4/83 but is a 1982 model. Six spoke gold FPS wheels with 4 bolt
drilled 280mm disks. Marzocchi "piggy back" shocks. Super Sport
rear wheel Seeley-style axle adjustments.
Frame number DM900SD952861, Motor Number
906640. This bike has only 7475 KMS or 4644 miles in 31 years!
May have been Canadian import since the
speedometer is in Kms with Mph inside. Bought new from "The
Sport Spot" in Kenalong NJ in 1983, this motorcycle has had 2
owners since production. Really, the pictures do not do this
bike justice. Fit for a selective collector or a rider that
wants the best in a classic Ducati. The bike is stock except for
some sensible upgrades like Conti mufflers and K&N air filters.
Twin pull cables are from the 900 Supersport eliminating the one
into two Darmah setup. Lightweight new battery. Stainless front
brake lines. Original air filters and air boxes go with the sale
along with the Factory Shop manual and owner's manual (w/USA
supplement). All keys and the factory tool kit are present.
The engine has the factory seal, and the
front header pipe is safety wired. The bike is 31 years old so
there are minor imperfections: Fine scratches on the paint and a
few frame chips. Will need modern tires. The countershaft
sprocket weeps oil but I have new seals on hand. Years ago, the
side covers were re-sprayed by "Underground colors" in San
Francisco. Otherwise all paint is original. While it is not
flawless, it is certainly a beautiful example of one of the best
looking Ducati V twin models and one which can be used for years
to come.
I have the clear, N.Y. title in hand. If you are the buyer and
need it shipped, please understand that all shipping costs and
arrangements are completely the responsibility of the buyer. Of
course, I will work with you and your shipper as far as schedule
and local pickup is concerned and assist in any other way that
makes sense.
Buyer must send a $1,000 deposit within 24
hours. No exceptions. This is just too nice a bike to deal with
game players. Interested parties are encouraged to ask questions
and, if possible, come view the bike to verify any issues or
concerns. I can also supply additional photos within reason;
just ask.
Asking $10,500.00 Cash is
acceptable, a bank transfer is fine, so is a certified check
once it clears.
