For Sale: 1972 Ducati 750GT
This an
opportunity to pick up a beautiful machine. Starting a family
has kept me from using it and it pains me to see it sitting in
the garage so I have decided to let her go.
I
completed a cosmetic restoration in 2005. The bike has had
little use since. This bike is featured (with clip-ons) on this
very website (bevelheaven.com) under the Photo Gallery section
containing 750GT-Sport. It’s the 6th row down in the middle
column. I wrote a lengthy article (right below the photos) for
my local club that Steve was kind enough to post with my photos.
Although the article is long it covers the story of the
restoration in great detail. The bike probably has another 500
– 600 miles on it from the time that story was written.
It has
10,600 original miles on it. The cases have never been opened.
It starts and run perfectly. The only piece I didn’t restore
was the kick start lever. I re-chromed the one off the 1974
parts bike I had not realizing that it wouldn’t fit a 1972
motor. I never got around to re-chroming the original one.
I have
the original fender (stainless) and the original headlight ears.
I also have the original fiberglass dash. I didn’t throw away
any stock part that came off the bike and of the correct bits
are included.
I added a
second disc and used two new Brembo calipers and a new Brembo
master cylinder. The bike stops great now.
We can
discuss the café seat and clip on handlebars if you’re
interested.
