2001 Harley Davidson ROAD KING with Factory Side Car

~ SOLD ~

Short video here http://youtu.be/Xyixs0Sc1cU

This Road King is being offered for sale by the current (and original) owner.  Bevel Heaven owner Steve Allen will be handling all aspects of this transaction on behalf of the gentleman who owns it.  Steve has known the owner (and bike) for over a decade and can and does attest to it's great condition and functionality. It is in very good condition but is not perfect, as this bike has been ridden throughout it's life...  It is not a trailer queen.  This fine example of a Road King has a clean California title and current CA registration.  Below is the text that the owner has provided pertaining to this bike.

****************

I am the original owner of the motorcycle, having purchased it from Bob Dron Harley Davidson in Oakland, California, and it has been maintained at that dealership until 4 years ago when we moved at which point the dealer in Walnut Creek took over. It has been lovingly cared for and stored inside throughout it's life.

One can see, with careful inspection, a few superficial abrasions in the paint, mostly around the side car due to inadvertent careless loading of golf clubs on my part. It was knocked over in Yosemite Park at The Wawona Hotel parking lot in October 2000. It needed a new chrome handlebar and a new front engine guard. No other damage was done. The repair work was completed at Bob Dron's. This was prior to the installation of the side car rig.

I had a Stage One performance package installed after I had owned the bike a few weeks. This consisted of a Screaming Eagle intake, a computer chip and a less restrictive pair of mufflers.

A new rear tire was just installed in November 2013.

The bike has always started immediately and runs well. It has never leaked a drop of oil.

When I decided to buy a side car, my Harley dealer had great trouble in locating an original one. Eventually he found one sitting in the Milwaukee factory, brand new and unpainted. We were told that Harley was no longer producing them. It was shipped to Oakland for painting and assembly at Bob Dron's.

I soon discovered that no one could give me lessons on driving the rig, so I had to learn on my own. I have enclosed a book that I have found helpful in controlling it. I will also include my phone number if you would be interested in the few tips I've discovered over the years.

You will find that it attracts a lot of positive attention wherever it goes.

***********************

We took the bike to the dealer to have it gone over to make sure everything is working and adjusted correctly etc. before bringing it here to my shop.  We installed a new battery, a new tire, replaced some engine mounts and did a tune up.  The bike is ready to go.

Total miles traveled is just under 28K

Included with the bike are all the parts you see above in the photos, and all paperwork, manuals, books etc shown.  All the parts are carefully bubble wrapped and ready to ship.  They consist of things like: bike and sidecar cover, lock & cable, back rest, chrome light shade covers, misc chrome trim pieces etc etc.  Tom liked to change things around so these parts are all good, shiny and ready to install again if you desire.  They are not worn out junk that he replaced with new....  There are also some gaskets and some new items that never got installed.

Tom loved his motorcycles and as he got older the bikes got ridden less and less, then we sold them for him, this being the last one as the sidecar allowed him to continue with his passion when he began having trouble getting his bikes on/off the center stand etc.  He can no longer ride, his wife said to get it out of the garage so there would be no question about doing so again.........  So here it is.

Whomever buys this will be rewarded with a super clean, well cared for Road King along with the super rare factory side car.  People smile and wave when you ride this through town....

This bike is located in Concord, California and is offered at $12,250 USD Sold As Is / Where Is with a clear California title. No warranty expressed or implied - its a 15 year old motorcycle!
