I have dug up a stash of original new old stock CONTI mufflers.  They are in perfect condition, as they have been sitting in the original factory boxes for more than 20 years.......  There is no rust, scratches or dents.

These NOS genuine CONTI mufflers fit all pre 1985 860cc & 900cc Ducati "squarecase" models and have the following characteristics [see photos below as well]:

• Conti logo but NO circle around it... nothing else just "CONTI"

• DUCATI 0755 84 105 stamped [....100 on the matching muffler]

• 47.8mm OD on inlet side

• bracket has 3 dimples, no welding on the top between muffler and bracket

• muffler has welded seam along length on bottom

The factory apparently made a batch of these style mufflers which are more rare than the ones with the circle around the logo that are more commonly seen.  These mufflers will require 48mm exhaust clamps which I stock.  You can get these stainless steel clamps for $12.50 ea when you buy mufflers from me, regular price is $15 ea. - just let me know when you place your order if you want them.

In Ian Falloon's book, "Original DUCATI Sport and Super Sport" you can see a picture of this style muffler on an 83-84 MHR, please see page 107, the middle picture.

On page 14, Mr Falloon states "All early Conti mufflers featured this oval inscription, although on some later examples the oval was absent."
