Mounting Dr
Desmo RearSets

I've had these rear sets on my
750GT for almost 6 years now and have been very happy with their
operation and placement. Note I had my mounting plates
anodized black, rather then left aluminum. These sets are easy
to fit, but are not completely bolt on.
On the right hand shift side,
they mount in the old foot peg mount, but you must drill a hole
in the triangular brace plate for the top mount. Everything else
just works.
The left hand brake side
requires more work. The left hand side also mounts in the old
foot peg mount and again, you must drill a hole in the triangular
brace plate for the top mount. However you must also remove the
brake cable stop that is welded on the rear down tube. This is
behind the plate and interferes
with the plate mounting. The stop can be preserved and
re-welded on if you go back to stock foot pegs.
The other issue is attaching
the brake cable. The provided cable attachment that threads on
to the heim joint at the rear set requires removing one end of
the cable in order to slide the cable through the hole. I
removed the rear adjustment on the brake cable and used a screw
tighten cable stop as show in this picture.
You could of course, cut the
other end and solder on a new cable stop…this is what I had in
the parts bin and it has worked fine for 6 years.
Enjoy … Barry
