This is the perfect
solution for your gas tank hold down woes. Don't use a vacuum
cleaner belt or an automotive O-ring that will break quickly, .... This simply slips
around and under the bracket that holds the fuse box and the loops
go around the gas tank pins to hold the tank. A simple and very clean
solution to your problem. The rubber is supple and stretches fine. It
measures 7.25" [185mm] center to center, total length is under
10" [255mm] and 5/16" [7mm] diameter. Above you can
see one installed on a 1977 DUCATI 900SS with no other modification
required. The grab tabs are hidden once the seat is installed.
I have 2 styles
available now, the lower one is as described and shown installed
on the 900SS above, the loop style is shown above the no loop
style . Both work great, the loop makes it so that you
remove your fuse box and slip the loop around the bracket then
reinstall the fuse box. The loop style does not have the
tabs as you can see - but, you will never lose your tank bungie
thing.. Both units are the same price, please specify
"no loop" or "loop style" when you place your
