I'm selling my race van,
folks. I just don't use it enough to hold on to it any
longer. I have had this van for more than 8 years - it hauls
anything and pulls anything, all day long and will do so at 85 up the
grapevine no worries. I used to live in San Luis Obispo, CA and
race with WSMC @ Willow Springs International Raceway. I drove
it down there and back monthly year around and drove it up to Sears
for AHRMA. I live in Pleasant Hill, CA now and am pretty much
retired from Racing..... If AHRMA comes back to town next year, I'll
be doing some hot laps but my other truck will do just fine with my
flatbed trailer to get to the track, the van is just sitting here
costing me money..... So it needs to find a new racer to haul for [or
gardener, or caterer, or???]

NOTE - all stickers have been removed from windows
etc.
The Details: I
have meticulously maintained this rig throughout the years because I
NEVER wanted to get stranded and miss a race, so I replaced anything
that was suspect as I saw it. I just passed smog [8/17/03] so
the sale of this vehicle comes with a valid smog certificate along
with the pink slip - registration is paid for a full year as well. There are 2 fuel tanks, 460 motor, heavy
duty brakes & transmission, tow package...... It is set to
roll.

This van has 6 feet
clear inside, side to side and 10' clear space behind the captains
chairs. I installed privacy curtains behind the chairs, in front
of the rear doors and behind the sliding side door. As you can
see, 2 bikes fit in here EASILY with plenty of room to spare, I have
installed heavy eye bolts for tie down points etc. I have
installed Lochart-Phillips wheel chocks attachments in 3 places, 2 as
shown and another set in the middle for if I haul only one bike.
The wheel chalks are not included but the attachments are part of the
deal [I will need them for my trailer, you can buy your own].
The spare rim/tire is included.
I usually hauled my pit
scooter directly in front of my racebikes, there is a wheel chalk for
a scooter built into the van wall just beside the rollers you can see
in the picture. [Rollers and ramp are not included, sorry]
Between the scooter and the back of the captains chairs, there is
still 5 or so feet of open space as you can see clearly in the
picture. I took 6 large tote boxes along with 4 spare wheels, a
spare motor, large cooler and my dog with plenty of room to
spare. I am not kidding, the thing runs GREAT and will go all
day long at 85+ no matter what you have inside or you are
pulling. Oh, I had a trailer place weld on a heavy duty trailer
hitch thing to the frame rails. The van is wired for a 2nd
battery under the hood and the inside of the van is wired for 12V if
you install a power inverter, there are several plugs along the
walls. A couple of lights are installed in the roof.
Windows have been tinted for security.
Problems: The
transmission pan gasket needs to be changed out, it leaks. The
valve cover gaskets leak, the rear main seal leaks a bit as
well..... I have bought the parts [which are included] but never
found the time to make the repairs. The leaks are minimal, I
just want to disclose everything I know good and bad.
Thats it, besides the
things mentioned above, the van is SOLID. It is a big, ugly
van. Period. It runs like stink and my wife wants it out
of the driveway. Asking $2700 OBO. I live very close
to the 24/680 interchange in the east bay and am available for preview
within 24hrs with some notice. Give me a call to confirm a time
for preview. This is a CASH deal, no personal checks etc and if you want to trade something, bring CASH along with
your trade item at the time you want to talk about $$$.
OK, NOW that's it.
Just click on the pictures below to get a larger image to see the
details etc.
