1974 Ducati 750 SS "greenframe" Replica For Sale
This motorcycle has been built from a 1974 750 GT that I
purchased nearly 4 years ago. The engine described below was in
the bike when I last rode back then. The whole project took too
long and I really left it too late in life to start. My
intention was to get as close to the real thing so that engine
and frame numbers would be needed to tell what it wasn't.
The engine is an 860cc Desmo. It
has twin plug ignition by Dyna and I removed and replaced the
ugly grey plastic from the ignition lead. The crankshaft is a
special one from Vee Two. All bearings were replaced in the
rebuild. So was the clutch hub, oil pump, rings, exhaust valves.
The bike was shimmed correctly taking a day and a half. The
engine builder has done a number of engines for me in the 18
bikes that I have restored. He is meticulous in his work. Engine
oil is Castrol DD 50. All electrics checked by my auto
electrician.
The frame is the original GT frame
converted to SS specifications. The original frame number is
stamped in the usual SS position. I have the number plate,
registration papers and sale receipt making registration in
Australia very straight forward.
