1977 Ducati 900 SS ~ SOLD
* 2757 mile bike *

'My wonderful example of a 1977 Ducati 900SS in authentic original silver and blue paint.

This bike has been recently renovated by renowned North East Ducati specialists European Cycle Services of Middletown NY and the bike remains with them to be viewed.

The engine was refreshed with new gaskets, seals and bearings where necessary,  the chassis received new steering head bearings,  the entire braking system was disassembled and received new pistons, seals and fluids in both master cylinders and calipers, the fuel system was flushed, fuel lines were replaced and both carbs received a thorough cleaning with jets, floats and valve adjustments. Both speedo and tach cables were replaced and new key ignition tumbler installed along with new tires and tubes and a new battery.  Although the bike presents very well and looks great, it’s important to remember the condition of the paint is original and has the usual nicks, small scratches and surface imperfections of a bike of this age.

The bike has been thoroughly overhauled for safety and reliable performance and is ready to give you – as it has given me - the ride of your life.

Riding impression of the engine provides classic Ducati vintage stride with train like pulling power of an engine running effortlessly with perfect primary balance. The chassis offers remarkable cornering stability on new tires with quite excellent brakes and acceptably comfortable ergonomics provided by the choice upgraded rearset kit and clip-on handlebar changes over stock. Clutch and throttle mechanisms work seamlessly with the left side shifter, all cogs engage positively with no false neutrals or dropping out of gear. Gearing is stock and chain and sprockets are in good condition as are wheel bearings, original Borrani rims, hubs and spokes.

Acceleration is brisk, stopping power predictable – the bike corners with a deftness of touch that can only be described as sublime – I believe the bike will give you many years of riding pleasure as it appreciates in heirloom value and high desirability.

For more details about the bike and refurbish work performed - Matthew will be happy to answer any questions you have at European Cycle Services
