These race shop built little
screamers are extremely rare, (cost as much as a Manx at that
time) and beautifully crafted with special (sand not die)
castings, straight cut bevel and primary gears, much machined
and relieved flywheels, special adjustable cam lobe overlap and
race valve angles in the externally oil fed head, even the inlet
manifold is keyed to the head to ensure correct alignment and no
step to interrupt gas flow. The bottom end is the same as the
125 GP and shares very little with the road bikes of the period.
The chassis is very different to
the road bikes and much lighter with extra strength, even the
forks are a different design with large diameter stanchions.
Ducati made a very small number
of these bikes, reputedly circa 25.
